Vietnam with friends!
Written by Sofia
Bruno, Jasmine and I headed to Vietnam to meet up with a few more people: my dear friend Vicky, her boyfriend Luis, Luis’ mom, and Vicky’s parents. It was quite the crew!! I wasn’t sure how it was going to go with that many people but it ended up going smoothly and being so much fun!!
To kick off the trip, Vicky and her parents invited us to visit their extended family. We all headed out to the countryside, a few hours away from Ho Chi Minh. It was so nice to meet Vicky’s extended family — all so sweet and welcoming! They also prepared so much delicious food.
On the first night, there was a bright red sunset overlooking rice terraces. So beautiful.
On the second day it was Easter and they invited 120 people over to their home! (From left to right: Luis, Vicky, and Vicky’s mom):
I really appreciated the opportunity to get a glimpse of Vietnam that you don’t normally get as a tourist. Seeing their homes, interacting with family members, eating their local food, and also doing a roadtrip with friends and their family? A wonderful time ❤️
After this weekend, we said bye to Vicky’s parents, and the rest of us spent a few more days in Ho Chi Minh. In Ho Chi Minh, we mainly walked and ate :)
A huge banh mi:
Night market!
The most delicious coconut ice cream:

Night out:
From there we headed north to Hoi An and Da Nang.
In Hoi An, we took a boat ride down the river. You can put a lantern in the water and make a wish. Can you find us in the picture?
We tried durian for the first time. And there is a massager on my head. Lol
A Buddhist temple called Marble Mountain:
Ride down Coconut River:
We also went to tailors and got some clothing made, which Hoi An is well-known for. (I don’t have pictures of this)
A lively night market in Da Nang, with lots of seafood:
We also spent time at the beach at both places with a lovely swim.
Last day together!
Overall, my heart was full after this trip spending time with the best of friends ❤️
